TAMPA BAY FILM CONFERENCE
A TAMPA BAY FILM independent film industry event series

Annual independent filmmaking conference and Tampa Bay independent film community think tank for innovation in independent film.

Spring 2017

We have no interest in bringing Hollywood to Tampa Bay. We do not sell out independent filmmakers and indie film in Tampa Bay to anyone. This is about putting independent film on the map in Tampa Bay, and making the Tampa Bay independent film scene a worldwide leader in independent film, with the most innovative and creative independent films ever made. We can make our Hollywood right here, by working together.

The Tampa Bay Film Conference was envisioned on late 2009 by Tampa Bay Film and C. A. Passinault. Although our annual independent film industry event series has yet to debut, we are the first event of its kind developed for the Tampa Bay market, a market which seems to be saturated with too many film festivals at the moment (how and why, we do not know, but it is our opinion that none of these film festivals support or advance independent film in Tampa Bay, and most of them simply humor Tampa Bay independent films as a sidebar feature. This will change!).

It's a really good idea. The Tampa Bay independent film scene needs this, and we know it is a good idea.

That's why we are doing this. It needs to be done right, too, which is another reason why we are doing this. Save Tampa Bay indie film, and help us to keep it independent.

THIS WEB SITE HAS NOT YET LAUNCHED. WE WILL LAUNCH IN FALL 2013.

Why 2017? Read the event sequence rollout schedule, here. The Tampa Bay Film Conference is a part of a larger networking of independent film festivals and support resources by Tampa Bay Film. We are the last event in that rollout sequence to debut, and the Tampa Bay Film Conference will happen every year, thereafter, around the same time. Additionally, it will be at least 2017 until we have enough innovative, creative, professional independent filmmakers, and a real independent film scene, to support an event like ours.
This schedule, as of March 25, 2013, is tentative, and can change at any time. This said, please note that the event rollout will not change for events in relation to the others, so if any of these events change in their schedule, it will push back the debut of the Tampa Bay Film Conference. For our event to debut, we will need, at the very least, 1 Reverence Film Festival Event, 12 Tampa Bay Film Showcase monthly film festival and professional networking event series events, and the debut of our large annual independent film festival, the Revolution Film Festival, to have happened. The debut of our event is dependent upon these other supporting events in our networking to come online.
This schedule does not include the underground film festivals and the online film festival of Tampa Bay Film, which will be up to speed by the Fall of 2013, and will support all of the other events.

Fall 2014
Reverence Film Festival annual independent horror and exploitation film festival and theme event debut.

Fall 2015
Reverence Film Festival 002. This film festival will announce the debut of the Tampa Bay Film Showcase, as well as market the other film festivals.

January 2016
Tampa Bay Film Showcase monthly film festival and professional networking event series debut (This will help establish the first Tampa Bay independent film community, which the Tampa Bay Film Conference will depend upon).

January 2017
Revolution Film Festival annual independent film festival debut.

Spring 2017
Tampa Bay Film Conference debut.

The Tampa Bay Film Conference is primarily set up to support independent filmmakers and independent filmmaking in Tampa Bay, as well as innovation in the independent film industry. There is no conflict of interest with outside interests, organizations, and government agencies which do not have the best interests of Tampa Bay filmmakers in mind.
The Tampa Bay Film Conference will facilitate the free exchange of ideas between independent filmmakers, and will allow participants to gauge the progress of the Tampa Bay independent film community. This moderated think-tank will open up the potential for the Tampa Bay independent film industry to become an innovative, and respected, leader in the worldwide independent film industry. It is one of our objectives to help make Tampa Bay filmmaking the top independent film industry in the southeastern United States, and to help independent filmmakers establish Hollywood East here on their own.
The free exchange of ideas, however, as well as everything else, will be documented, and all filmmakers will bear witness. Everyone will get appropriate credit, and we will make all of this documentation freely available to anyone, including those who are engaging in legal action. By clarifying who does what, and who contributes what idea, we hope to help Tampa Bay independent filmmakers get away from the unprofessional theft of ideas, the plagiarism, the credibility attacks, the cliques, the slander, and the politics which have crippled the Tampa Bay indie film scene and held it back in the past.
By sharing ideas, and working as a group, we can make the Tampa Bay independent film industry a leader in independent film.
At the time of this writing, March 25, 2013, the Tampa Bay Film Conference is, at the very least, just over four years away, so any additional details of this event series is classified, and not published yet on this web site.
The Tampa Film Conference ties in with all of the independent film festivals by Tampa Bay Film. It is an annual indie film event by Tampa Bay Film and our Stage production/ event company.
The Tampa Bay Film Conference was envisioned, and designed, by professional event planner C. A. Passinault. C. A. Passinault is also the director of Tampa Bay Film.
This was originally written for our old site on February 27, 2010. It was updated for the new Tampa Bay Film Conference site on March 25, 2013.
This web site will launch later in 2013.
